Best Wineries With a View in Napa
This guide includes some of the most scenic vineyards in Napa, but not all of them are super close together, so I recommend picking out maybe a handful of these suggestions, or squeezing one into your existing travel itinerary. If you’re looking for wineries in Napa with a view, check out this guide to see which destinations speak to you.
Vineyard 7 & 8
Imagine sipping a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon or Chardonnay while enjoying the panoramic views from atop Spring Mountain. This stunning vineyard is a beautiful sight to behold no matter what time of year or what time of day you visit, but it’s one of the best places to enjoy a sunset.
The Terraces
This farm and vineyard has deep roots – going back more than 140 years! The Terraces is nestled among the foothills of the Vaca Mountain range, and should absolutely be on your travel itinerary when you come to Napa Valley.
The grounds are nothing short of stunning. On your personalized tour you’ll enjoy traversing the vineyards, forests, gardens, and even some of the original structures. What I loved about the tasting here, besides the stunning views, was how private and intimate everything felt.
It’s a bit off the beaten path, with the winery located in Rutherford CA 94573, but it’s well worth the detour for the great wines and beautiful views.
Viader
Perch on the slopes of Howell Mountain, Viader Vineyards and Winery offers some of the best views in Napa Valley. Guests are able to explore the estate and get a guided tour of the wine caves before sitting down to breathtaking views of Napa Valley to enjoy their guided tasting.
Quintessa
If you’re in search of one of the most beautiful vineyards in Napa Valley and aren’t afraid to make the journey, Quintessa offers some of the most stunning views you could imagine. The vineyard views offer a mosaic of landscapes, from hills and valleys to a variety of soils and microclimates, and create a perfect little stretch of paradise.
The tastings are priced on the higher end, but when you see the stunning architecture and design that blurs the link of outdoors and inside, you’ll quickly start to see why. Located in St Helena CA 94574, Quinetessa isn’t too far from some of the other most scenic wineries on this list if you wanted to do a whole day of tastings in this wine region.
The Caves at Soda Canyon
You won’t want to miss out on this incredible tasting experience at The Caves At Soda Canyon. The exquisite space is literally bored into the side of the mountain and overlooks the Napa’s Stag’s Leap Appellation.
Whether you’re enjoying the carefully crafted caves, or the terrace spaces they open onto, you’ll be able to drink in some delicious wines with the best Napa Valley views.
Cardinale
If you’re on the hunt for the most scenic wineries in Napa Valley, Cardinale needs to be on your itinerary! Found in the heart of Napa Valley, the panoramic views and unbelievably delicious wines easily make this one of the most beautiful wineries around.
The intimate tasting experience does require a reservation in advance, but the prettiest Napa wineries usually do.
Artesa Vineyards & Winery
Only an hour from San Francisco, Artesa Vineyards & Winery is full of Old-World sophistication and Napa’s contemporary allure. The winery was founded by one of Spain’s oldest wine making families, and the avant garde design was brought to life by renowned Barcelona architect Domingo Triay. If you make it to this stunning destination, I recommend their Pinot Noir!
Joseph Phelps
This isn’t just one of the prettiest vineyards in Napa, it’s also full of history. Joe Phelps was one of the first American winemakers to see the merit in blending, and created California’s first proprietary red Bordeaux-style blend.
In addition to getting a glass of the “Insignia,” be sure to check out Joseph Phelps Vineyards’ sparkling wines, too. They have a vintage from Sonoma County that’s out of this world.
Castello di Amorosa
Admittedly, the wine here isn’t my favorite, but Castello di Amorosa is one of the most iconic and beautiful wineries in Napa Valley. It’s gorgeous inside and out, and if you come for a seated tasting, you’ll feel like absolute royalty.
Chappellet Winery
For anyone who likes to pair their wine tastings with a little bit of adventure, I highly recommend the 4×4 tour of Chappellet Winery. You’ll drink in the amazing views of some of the farthest reaches of this breathtaking family-run estate, and then sit down for an outdoor wine tasting paired with artisanal cheeses.
Come see for yourself what makes this one of the prettiest wineries in Napa Valley!
Miner Family Winery
If you time your visit right – ideally early winter, just around sunset – you will be blown away by one of the most gorgeous sunsets you’ve ever experienced. If you can, sit out on the deck and opt for the chocolate pairing.
Goosecross Cellars
For any foodies out there, if you can make it out to Yountville, there’s no shortage of mouth watering restaurants – a few of which even have Michelin stars. You can also easily walk between some tasting spots in downtown, but for the views at Goosecross Cellars, the drive would be worth it!
You’ll have a selection of 17 different wines to choose from while you drink in the stunning vineyard views. Set amongst a backdrop of gorgeous rolling hills in the distance, this beautiful vineyard isn’t one you’ll want to miss if you’re in search of the best view wineries in Napa.
CADE Estate Winery
This sleek and modern estate winery serves guests panoramic views of Napa Valley, and a fantastic Sauvignon Blanc. All of the wines made at CADE Estate Winery are organic, and someday soon, the vineyard could be the first LEED Gold Certified estate in Napa Valley.
For those of you who love to Travel Green, you can sip these wines while learning about all of the winery’s current sustainable practices.
Pride Mountain
Found atop Spring Mountain, the views and wines you’ll find here are sure to impress. If you decide to add this gorgeous stop to your Wine Country itinerary, be warned that rideshares often aren’t willing to make the trip back up the mountain to pick you up afterwards.
There’s a few different tasting options to choose from, all of which give you an opportunity to learn about mountain viticulture and winemaking. I recommend the Summit Experience – and booking in advance so you don’t miss out!
