- Tequila – 2 oz (60 ml) good-quality blanco tequila
- Avocado – 1 ripe avocado
- Lime juice – 1 oz (30 ml) freshly squeezed
- Simple syrup – 1/2 oz (15 ml) (adjust to taste)
- Orange liqueur – 1/2 oz (15 ml) (like Cointreau or Triple Sec)
- Ice – 1 cup (240 ml) (or more for desired texture)
- Hibiscus salt – For rimming the glass (see instructions below)
For the Hibiscus Salt Rim:
- Sea salt – 2 tbsp
- Dried hibiscus flowers – 1 tbsp, crushed
Prepare the Hibiscus Salt Rim: On a small plate, mix the sea salt with the crushed dried hibiscus flowers. Rub the rim of your glass with a lime wedge to moisten it, then dip the rim into the hibiscus salt mixture, ensuring it’s evenly coated. Set aside.
Blend the Margarita: In a blender, combine the tequila, ripe avocado, freshly squeezed lime juice, simple syrup, and orange liqueur. Blend until smooth and creamy.
Add Ice: Add about 1 cup of ice to the blender and blend again until the mixture reaches a slushy, creamy texture. Adjust the ice amount if needed to achieve your desired consistency.
Taste and Adjust: Taste the margarita and add more simple syrup if you prefer a sweeter drink. Blend briefly to mix.
Serve: Pour the creamy margarita into your prepared glass. Garnish with a lime wheel or avocado slice, if desired.
