Ingredients

  • 2 oz of blanco tequila
  • 1 oz of freshly squeezed lime juice
  • 1 oz of orange liqueur
  • 2-3 jalapeño slices
  • 1 oz of simple syrup

Instructions

  • Start by preparing your glass. Rub a lime wedge around the rim and dip it in kosher salt to create the classic salted rim.
  • In a cocktail shaker, muddle 2-3 jalapeño slices with 1 oz of simple syrup. This releases the jalapeño’s heat and infuses it into the syrup.
  • Add 2 oz of blanco tequila, 1 oz of freshly squeezed lime juice, and 1 oz of orange liqueur to the shaker.
  • Put some ice in the cocktail shaker and shake it for about 15 to 20 seconds. The goal is to mix the ingredients well and chill the drink.
  • Next, strain the cocktail mixture into the glass you prepared earlier, filled with ice. If you want to avoid extra heat, use a fine mesh strainer to remove any jalapeño seeds.
